Tom's Here To Stay
ORLANDO, Fla. -- New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft said the team will continue to talk about a contract extension for quarterback Tom Brady, expressing confidence that the sides will strike a long-term agreement. "Let's put it like this: Tom Brady is going to be part of this franchise. He wants to be here, we want him," Kraft told reporters early Monday. "Great things happen in life if you're flexible and not rigid. We have to find a way to satisfy him and the team, and have a team that can win big-time. That's what it's about.
I love the way Kraft talks "Let's put it like this", and "That's what its about." There's something about it, i feel like i could have a nice, funny chat with this guy. I bet that's how he gets these grade A quarterbacks to sign long term deals with his franchise. He starts it off with a little comment about the stock market and then BAM! Tom Brady signs his name on the new contract. This is great news for the Patriots though. Last year was a rebuilding year in some ways, so next season they're going to come out with guns blazing. They'll have some fresh young talent with their draft picks, a new "gotta get that ring" attitude, and of course Brady will be at the helm of it all, just the way it should be.
