Iverson Has Some Issues

Multiple NBA sources say Allen Iverson is facing alcohol and gambling issues that have derailed his career and threaten his post-basketball well-being, Stephen A. Smith of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports in a column published Monday. According to multiple NBA sources, there is widespread concern that the four-time NBA scoring champion, who left the Philadelphia 76ers in February to deal with his daughter's illness and will not return this season, "will either drink himself into oblivion or gamble his life away," Smith reported. Iverson's gambling problem is serious enough that he has been banished from casinos in Detroit and Atlantic City, N.J., according to Smith.

So in other words he's just like every retired basketball player? Look at MJ and Barkely. I have this theory that says if MJ played in today's era he wouldn't be viewed as the greatest ever. Yeah, his ability and on court game would all be there but as a person I think he wold fall into the Tiger Woods zone. Nobody talks about how much of a conceded asshole MJ was and still is. It's no secret the guy had a bad gambling problem/cheated on his wife multiple times. Some people even say that's why he retired for the first time because the NBA couldn't keep it quiet if he stayed around. Seriously. Pick up a book. It's all there. So I'm not shocked Iverson has these issues. He's just living up to the stereotype. Like arabs bringing bombs on airplanes or guys named Kobe raping white girls.
