Butler is in the Final?
INDIANAPOLIS (AP)—Kansas—gone. Kentucky—gone. Syracuse—gone. Little Butler—still going. How’s that for a Hollywood hoops script. Call it “Hoosiers,” the sequel. Gordon Hayward had 19 points and nine rebounds, including one with 2 seconds left that sealed the game. The small school looked anything but, taking down another of college basketball’s biggest names with a 52-50 victory over Michigan State in the Final Four on Saturday night. Butler (33-4) now plays the winner of West Virginia-Duke in Monday night’s title game. In its hometown, no less.
A true Cinerella Story. After making it to the final four for the first time in the programs history, Butler is in the final. This is a great story and all, but do we really want to see them in the final game? They only put up 52 against Michigan State. Thats boring if you ask me. They'll be going up against WVU or Duke (my guess is Duke), and they will most likely get blown out. I would much rather see two number 1 teams battle it out then a highly ranked team against a 1 or 2 seed and have it be a "good story." But, Butler could also continue this run and surprise us all and win it, they do have the home court advantage. I'd be fine with that. As long as this games not a blowout, and they score more than 55 points ill be happy. My prediction though, is that they'll lose by a pretty big margin, but what do i know, im just a blogger.
