Washington Redskins quarterback Donovan McNabb has encouraged the team's coaching staff to consider signing free agent wide receiver Terrell Owens, despite the acrimony that marked their time as Philadelphia Eagles teammates, according to multiple sources. Coach Mike Shanahan told Werder that the Redskins are not actively pursuing Owens. A team source said the Redskins have made upgrading their wide receiver position a high priority, but prefer to avoid bringing Owens into their locker room if another solution can be found. A source close to McNabb told Paolantonio that McNabb and Owens recently talked about the possibility of reuniting while recently shooting an episode for a television show in Los Angeles. The "Pros v. Joes" episode features McNabb and Owens playing together on the same basketball team. The episode is scheduled to air in July on Spike.
I feel like Dr. Drew right now and the McNabb/TO reunion is like when Tom Sizemore joined the Celebrity Rehab cast late to find Heidi Fleiss smoking bogeys. Sure, it could work and they would make a great team again but what happens when things don't go as planned? You gotta remember that as good as they were together, they were also really bad when shit hit the fan. I'm just trying to protect Donovan's heart here. He can't go through another violent break up that leaves him and his career in shambles. Just take it slow, man. Don't jump into the saddle too quickly and always ask yourself if the juice was worth the squeeze.
P.S. If T.O signs I need that locker room footage. I can picture him hugging McNabb and whispering in his ear, "I don't blame you anymore." That's how you melt hearts.
