PARIS (AFP) - France coach Raymond Domenech has warned that he would "shoot" any players unable to put aside their egos for the sake of the French team at the World Cup. "The lesson is that they must be intelligent and leave their egos behind and think that it is the team that counts, not them," Domenech told L'Equipe newspaper. "If they haven't understood that, I'll shoot! The final list must be unveiled on June 1."
I guess that's one way to get your players to listen to you. Just a little death threat thats all. Thats another reason why European soccer is so much better. No American coach would ever make a death threat, thats probably why they all suck. They would also be fired in a second. But over in France they eat that shit up. Domenech is probably completely serious too. Come World Cup time, you will not see the slightest ego from any player on the field. I dont even wanna know what he does to his players if they take a bad shot or something. Moral of the story is you gotta do what you gotta do.
