For most people, the revelation that John Tesh and Oprah Winfrey once had a romance is ... startling, to say the least. Oprah has not exactly been known for her romantic entanglements. And most people familiar with Tesh -- the former Entertainment Tonight co-host, Amway spokesperson and new-age music maker -- know that he has been married for many years to actress Connie Sellecca. But according to a new unauthorized biography by Kitty Kelley that hit the shelves today, Oprah and Tesh had a brief live-in relationship in the 1970s when they were both working in local TV in Nashville. Kelley reports in Oprah: A Biography that that Tesh walked out on Oprah because he couldn't handle the social pressures at the time of being part of an interracial couple. Until now, their romance had never even been rumored publically.
This is enough for John Tesh to wake up every morning and kick himself in the ass. Am I remotely attracted to Oprah? No, No I'm not. But do I love the smell of bathing in dollar bills every morning? You bet your ass I do. If I was Tesh I would play this shit up to the max. Walk down the street and everybody will stop and say "there goes the guy who used to bang Oprah before she was Oprah." On the flip side, I think you question Oprah's judgement here. Wasn't Tesh rumored to be an alien in the 80's or something? That explains why he couldn't handle the pressures of being part of an interracial couple. Didn't wanna put Oprah through the pain of being judged for dating E.T. Wait. Oprah's black? She's not one of ours? But she seems so together! And responsible! She's the voice of Life. We still get 50% of Barack, right?
