Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk? Seriously?

It is being reported that Mark Ruffalo will play The Hulk in Marvel's "The Avengers" which is due out in May 2012. The moviefone synopsis for "The Avengers" states...

"Marvel Studios delivers the ultimate comic book production, tying such characters as Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), The Hulk, and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) together for a big-screen franchise team-up like no other. Show runner Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly) adapts and helms the script by Zak Penn, with a supporting cast headed up by Samuel L. Jackson and Don Cheadle."

Ed Norton played The Hulk in 2008's "The Incredible Hulk" and was the likely choice to reprise the role but Marvel cut him from the project. The head of production for Marvel studios apparently suffers from many different mental disorders because he commented that the reason Marvel cut Norton from the project was that he wasn't as talented as the other actors involved in the project. He released a statement saying...

"Our decision is definitely not one based on monetary factors, but instead rooted in the need for an actor who embodies the creativity and collaborative spirit of our other talented cast members. The Avengers demands players who thrive working as part of an ensemble, as evidenced by Robert [Downey Jr., as Iron Man] Chris [Hemsworth, as Thor], Chris [Evans, as Captain America], Sam [Jackson, as Nick Fury], Scarlett [Johansson, as Black Widow], and all of our talented casts.”

Okay so let me get this straight...you say Ed Norton is not talented enough for this type of movie, a role he has already played (which took in $263 million worldwide), and then you go and get Mark Ruffalo for the role? What the hell is so great about Mark Ruffalo? He looks like he should be chopping down trees in Alaska instead of acting. I would rather watch Ed Norton take a shit than Mark Ruffalo act. Ed Norton is a hard-ass...Have the people at Marvel not seen Primal Fear, American History X or Fight Club (to name a few)?!? Maybe they were too busy watching 13 Going on 30, Zodiac and Date Night. I'm guessing Norton was a dick during filming and they didn't want to work with him but the man has earned the right to be an asshole.

This decision comes a few weeks after Marvel inked relative unknown Andrew Garfield as the new Spider-Man. I am marveling at their decision making right now (I know terrible, terrible pun).
