Celts Talk Trading Big Baby

The Boston Celtics and Charlotte Bobcats are discussing a trade centered around Glen Davis and D.J. Augustin, according to league sources. The sources cautioned that nothing is imminent, but said the clubs are having discussions. The Bobcats have been searching for a power forward, and the 6-foot-9 Davis could be their man. The Celtics, meanwhile, have been longing for a backup point guard, and Augustin, who's fallen out of favor with Charlotte coach Larry Brown, would be more than adequate. A straight-up trade would not work because Davis is a base-year compensation player, so other players would have to be involved to meet the financial requirements. That could be a sticking point in the deal. While teams don't typically trade big for small, Boston is a bit aggravated with Davis, who's had a few off-the-court problems this season. Most notably, he missed the first 27 games of the season after breaking his thumb in an early morning scuffle with a friend.

Oh heyyy!!! Something actually happened in the sports world today? We can finally stop talking about Peyton Manning being classy for avoiding the post game madness but Belehick is still a scum bag for doing the same thing 2 years ago? Thank goodness. I can't tell you how excited it makes me to hear Glen BigVagina Davis might get traded. He may be the only athlete I hate from one of my favorite teams. It's crazy how much I can't stand him. Like if I saw him and Justin Bieber on the street I wouldn't know who to kick the shit out of. And this all goes back to my post a week ago about how I couldn't see the subtraction of Ray Allen from the squad resulting in any real addition. But getting rid of Davis for a young scoring guard like Augustin is something I might be interested in. It's vital that Ainge doesn't listen to the critics who bag on Allen for reasons he's not. Ray isn't gonna be the guy who clamps down one player all game. He's not the guy to take it to take the rim and get the +1. That's because he's never been that guy. He's a great spot up shooter, great off the dribble, and great in the sack. Watch a game and compare his release to any other player in the league. It's that much faster. He has the ability to get his shot off without the defender putting a hand in his face. Seriously. Watch a game. Don't just pretend to like a team because they're the flavor of the week.
