Friday New Movie Releases - June 4

There are 5 movies coming out tomorrow (Friday, June 4) - Get Him to the Greek, Killers, Ondine, Marmaduke and Splice. I'm really only looking forward to Get Him to the Greek and Killers (we posted about them here). Get Him to the Greek stars Jonah Hill, Russell Brand and P. Diddy and involves Jonah Hill trying to get Russell Brand to play at the Greek Theatre. It has a 71% on Rotten Tomatoes right now which is very high so I'm sure it won't disappoint. The first 5 minutes have been posted on FunnyOrDie.com - the video is below.

Killers is a romantic action-comedy that stars Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl. I love romcoms so this movie is right up my alley. They had the premiere the other day and "Mr. Internet" Ashton Kutcher streamed the 1st 13 minutes of the film on Ustream. The video is below - the movie starts at the 11:05 mark.

Ondine stars Colin Farrell and it just looks straight-up boring. It is about him catching a mermaid in his fishing net and then falling in love with her. Bore tore. It did receive a 63% on Rotten Tomatoes which isn't bad so if this plot sounds like your cup of tea be my guest and tell me how it is.

Marmaduke is an animated comedy about a dog, Marmaduke (voiced by none of than Owen Wilson), and his journey across the country. Dan Abramson reviewed the trailer a few months ago and thought it was the worst thing he has ever seen. Here is what he had to say:
"What's impressive about this trailer is it actually gets progressively worse as it goes along, which is quite a feat for a two minute video. It starts with Owen Wilson as "the duke," himself. Nothing wrong with that. Who doesn't like some Owen Wilson? But before you know it you're in the midst of mind-blowing awfulness, being slapped around by Fergie, terrifying talking animals, and toilet jokes that even children would frown upon. I actually blacked out when watching this. When I came to, the first words I apparently uttered were, "Dance...sequence...whyyyyy?"
Add that to the fact that it received a 10% on Rotten Tomatoes and we have ourselves the making of a stinker. An animated dog comedy with Owen Wilson, Fergie, George Lopez, Jack Bauer and McLovin as voices - how can that possibly be bad .

That brings us to Splice which just looks creepy. It stars Adrien Brody as a scientist who splices human DNA with animal DNA. W-E-I-R-D-O. It did receive a 68% on Rotten Tomatoes but the reviewers on RT are internet geeks and everyone knows that internet geeks are creepy. I'll pass.
