Lunch Lady Charged With Serving Too Many Sweet Peas

ANSONIA, Conn. -- Police in Ansonia said the head cook at Emmett O'Brien Technical High School turned herself in to police on Monday on two outstanding arrest warrants.Debra LaSasso turned herself in to state police in Bethany and was immediately charged with two counts of sexual assault.LaSasso was released on $500 bond and was scheduled to appear in Derby Superior Court on Jan. 10 and New Haven Superior Court on Jan. 14.Police said that LaSasso was placed on administrative leave a month ago after the allegations first came out. School officials said LaSasso was not allowed on school property until the charges against her are sorted out.Police said the alleged sexual encounters happened in the school on Prindle Avenue in Ansonia. Police said that LaSasso had sex with the 17-year-old at least two times.
