The Florida Marlins were in Tampa Bay this past weekend for interleague play against the Rays. Apparently the hotel the team was staying at was haunted and apparently Marlins closer Leo Nunez is easily alarmed.
USA Today - RHP Leo Nunez was so spooked by strange noises at the team's hotel in St, Petersburg, Fla., that he spent the weekend at the home of Rays pitcher Joel Peralta, his close friend from the Dominican Republic. This story is everything that the 2011 media should be about, digging up this kind of info when the easy way out would have been to focus on the baseball game. This is true journalism. At first I didn't believe it was ghosts so I tried to think of any other strange noise that might come from a hotel at any hour of the day but I just can't. I mean, ice machines? Those things are quieter than Ryan Dunn (too soon?). Drunk people running around? Librarians would be proud. Kids? Helen Keller quiet. The maids? Like a Charlie Chaplin film.
Rookie RHP Steve Cishek reported hearing strange noises in his room at The Vinoy.
Oh yeah, this is the haunted hotel the Marlins were staying at. But don't look unless you plan on sleeping with one eye open tonight because right now I'm scared shitless and about to call Scooby and the Gang after seeing this.
