If The NHL Playoffs Start And Sean Avery Is Benched, Does It Still Matter?

New York Rangers winger Sean Avery was not in the starting lineup to start the team's opening round playoff series against the Washington Capitals. Avery, who did not dress in the Rangers' regular-season finale but had played in the previous six games for the team, was displaced by the return of diminutive skilled winger Mats Zuccarello from the minors. Former Boston University standout Matt Gilroy was also be in the lineup in place of defenseman Steve Eminger. Even when he was playing down the stretch, Avery had seen his ice time diminish dramatically as the season went on, playing less than six minutes in two of his final six games. He had been a healthy scratch for five of six games prior to that. Avery scored just three times in 76 regular-season games this season.

I don't really get it. Playoff season is when you let Sean Avery out of his cage and  let him do what he does best. The whole arrangement is made for his game. I understand he's having a shitty year but it's harder to get under a new guys skin every night during the regular season when you're facing different teams but playoff time is absolute war. It's man vs. man in an all out brawl over 7 games. Last night's emotions are spilled over to the next night and the snowball continues to roll. You don't think Sean Avery's game would be perfect in that situation? I refuse to support the Rangers until he's in the lineup. I don't even like the Rangers. I'll become the biggest Minnesota Wild fan you've ever seen if New York decides to ship him out there. So until #16 is crushing skulls, it's go Bruins. Cup or bust as far I'm concerned.

Am I the only one who gets hard watching these videos?
