I'm slightly depressed that baseball is coming to an end so I plan on keeping you posted on everything that is even small news in baseball for the months to come.
The Mets, who are really just an embarrassment of a franchise, have finally made a positive move. They announced Monday that both GM Omar Minaya and manager Jerry Manuel would not be returning to the organization. They will look to hire a GM first to help aid the process of hiring a new coach. The Mets were once a prized franchise and now they're just kind of a joke. Injuries, trades and domestic violence cases (looking at you K-Rod) have plagued the Mets and they have had two losing seasons in a row.
The Mets finished 79-83, a huge 18 games behind the Phillies in the NL East. On opening day, the Mets ranked 5th for the highest payroll with a total of $133 million.
