Rangers Maybe Sending Away Sean Avery

The Rangers will likely open cap-space by sending one or two veterans to the minors (thus opening cap-space), but Glen Sather can also move a few players through trade to make roster space for up-and-coming prospects, or other free agents he would like to sign (if there are any). The Rangers are two forwards over the average limit, so Glen Sather may choose to move two or three forwards for a tough defenseman, or a top-line center (which is still much needed). Steve Zipay of Newsday suggests that the Rangers could send Matt Gilroy, Sean Avery, and a second round pick to Boston, in exchange for center Marc Savard (not bad). The Rangers could also send a forward or two for some prospects or draft picks, thus opening cap-space and roster space. But if Glen Sather does not want to make a trade, he can always simply waive a few veteran players with big cap-hits such as Wade Redden, Todd White, and Michael Rozsival.

Normally I'd freak out but did you read the two possible options for Avery? He could come to Hartford or be traded to Boston? WHAT?!?! Make no mistake about it, I'm no Rangers fan. I fucking hate NYC and the state of New York. My allegiance lies where Avery goes and I'm obviously a bit of a Bruins guy so the trade would just close me off from the anything but Boston sports. Who knows. I like the thought of Avery in black and gold though. Him and Lucic on the same line would be absolute mayhem
