Taylor Swift World Premiere of "Mean" Music Video

Taylor Swift just premiered her music video for "Mean" from her album "Speak Now" on CMT. Of course it's awesome so don't feel ashamed one bit if you watch it over and over. CMT.com has an interview with the director, Declan Whitebloom:

They shot it last month at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles, with a big cast, period costumes and about nine different sets. Whitebloom talked about vignettes from all different time periods, from the vaudevillian to kind of an O Brother, Where Art Thou? type of scene. "It's going to be almost like watching a Broadway show," he promised. "You may even need to watch it several times to take it all in."

Taylor Swift Releases New Song "Mean" (with Audio & Lyrics)

We are only a week away from Taylor Swift's 3rd album, "Speak Now", being released and an hour ago she released another song. This one is called "Mean" and people think it could become the theme song/rallying cry for the growing anti-bullying campaign. Although there are a ton of people who love TSwizzle there are a lot that can't stand her. In the song she basically calls out the people who are "mean" to her and talks about how she handles it. In the video below she explains that the song is geared toward one person in particular, saying, "and there's one guy, man, who just crossed the line over and over again just being mean and just saying things that would ruin my day."

The song is definitely a lot more country than her recent songs and I welcome the change. I probably don't have to keep saying this when I post a new Taylor Swift song but, as usual, the song is extremely catchy and has a great chorus. Taylor Swift Releases New Song "Speak Now" (with Audio & Lyrics)

Two months ago the first single ("Mine") from Taylor Swift's upcoming album ("Speak Now") was leaked onto the internet (I.e. for the past two months I have been listening to it on repeat while running).

At midnight last night she released the second song from the album. This one shares the same name as the album and is just as catchy as "Mine". "Speak Now" is a little different at the start and is definitely different from a lot of her other songs in the way it sounds and how she sings it but I dig it. As usual, the chorus is awesome and keeps with the theme of all her songs - great to blast at fraternity socials as a way to keep the girls happy but also secretly singing along yourself.

In the video below she explains the meaning behind the song. Basically it is about her friend who broke up with a guy but thought they would always get back together. The guy then found a new girl and decided to marry her. Apparently the new girl was a grade A bitch. When Taylor's friend told her the news she asked her if she would "speak now", explaining "you know, like storm the church. Speak now or forever hold your peace."

Taylor will release a song a week until the album release on October 25th (3 weeks!!!). Next Tuesday at midnight she will release "Back to December" followed by "Mean" the next Tuesday at midnight. The full version of "Speak Now" and lyrics are below.

Taylor Swift 1st Single "Mine" Leaked onto Internet (with Lyrics)

Christmas come early!! Taylor Swift hadn't planned on releasing her 1st single, "Mine", until August 16th but it leaked online today and so she decided to start selling it on iTunes. Because I am awesome I have found the song for you to enjoy (instead of the lame 30 second preview iTunes gives you). The song is incredible, but come on did you expect anything else? It is extremely catchy and I loved it the first time I listened to it (it usually takes a few listens for me to like a song). Go support Tay Tay and buy the song then do what you always do with her songs - put them on your iPod and blast them while driving with your windows down. You know you want to. She hosted a live chat with fans on July 20th and said "Mine" is about her "tendency to run from love" and said...

"It's been sort of a recent tendency, and I think it's because, for me, every really direct example of love that I've had in front of me has ended in goodbye and ended in breakups and things like that," she explained. "So I think I've developed this pattern of running away when it comes time to fall in love and stay in a relationship. The song is sort of about finding the exception to that and finding someone who would make you believe in love and realize that it could work out, because I'm never ever going to go past hoping that love works out."

Taylor Swift New Album (Speak Now) - October 25

I thought a countdown might be too excessive but then I reminded myself that Taylor Swift is releasing a new album and it seemed necessary. TSwizzle hosted a live Ustream chat with her fans on Tuesday and discussed the details of her much anticipated new album. She revealed that the album will be released on October 25th and will be called "Speak Now".

Nancy Durham of TheBoot.com stated...

"Taylor Swift says that when her third album, 'Speak Now,' is released October 25, it will tell listeners a lot about her personal life .... presumably including the romantic seesaw she's ridden during the past two years."

A Taylor Swift album chock full of songs about her failed relationships? Shocking...and I wouldn't want it any other way. She wrote every single song on the album without any co-writers which is pretty bad-ass. I would have at least needed the Rhyme Zone to help me out. She stated...

"I wrote all the songs myself for this record. It didn't really happen on purpose. It just sort of happened that way. I'd get my best ideas at 3:00 AM in Arkansas, and didn't have a co-writer around and I'd just finish it. And that would happen again in New York; that would happen again in Boston; that would happen again in Nashville. The songs that made the cut for the albums are the ones that I wrote by myself so – wish me luck!"

Ummmm..."luck"? It's good to know she shares the same night-owl tendencies as I do because it will serve as a great conversation starter when we finally meet. Here is the full video of her Ustream chat...

The 1st single is called "Mine" and will be released on August 16 which is just over 3 weeks away. I haven't been this excited since Target had a book about her on sale a few months ago 7-11 got a new shipment of Silly Bandz a few weeks ago. On July 8 TSwift was in Maine filming the video for "Mine" which will be released in about 6 months. Pics from the music video shoot are below...

Taylor Swift Really Does Wish She Lived in the '40s

Tay Tay was at Atlantis in the Bahamas this weekend and went to the beach wearing this hideous "bikini". Would we even call this a bikini? Even though it is less than flattering I'm glad she decided to rock this attire because I don't want her acting slutty like all of the other celebrity skanks. One (of the many) reasons I love TSwift is because she's a good-girl and wearing shit like this either confirms that or means she's a little weird...and I sorta like that too. TSwift Pulls Off the Straight Hair

The CMT awards are tonight and Taylor Swift showed up looking hotter than ever. By now you should know of my huge crush on her but I think everyone has to admit she looks hot as hell in these pictures. TSwift is known for her curly hair and you may remember she straightened it a few months ago (which I didn't think looked as good) but tonight she pulled it off.

This post doesn't need a clever title. It is simply going to be me explaining why I love Taylor Swift and why she is so great. I felt this post was necessary because I will be talking a lot about my love for Taylor in future posts and you might want to know where I am coming from. I know most guys love Taylor Swift but hate to admit it cause it seems girly, but fear not...I am here to support you. Why do I like Taylor so much??? Well that's easy.

1. Taylor writes her own music
2. She is a country girl next door and not afraid to have good clean fun while other celebrities check into rehab
3. Taylor is almost always wearing a dress
4. Her music is catchy (yes I am admitting that)
5. She loves her mom
6. She has a lot of money, awards and blond hair - as my roommate would say, "Blond hair? Don't care"
7. Taylor's songs outline what not to do in a relationship with her (because yes I will one day meet her and charm the hell outta her)
8. If I break-up with her I will still be remembered in a catchy song
9. She isn't afraid to let the world in on every aspect of her life (her YouTube, Twitter and Photo Blog let her fans in on everything)
10. Taylor appreciates her fans (probably because they sell out her shows and make her mad doll-hairs...that's dollars for the kids)
11. Knowing Taylor Swift songs at parties helps pick up girls
12. Because Kanye West let her finish
13. She knows how to pimp out her house

I thought this was a good stopping place since "13" is her lucky number. Yeah, she's awesome and people might call you gay for listening to her music or following her life but just refer them to #11 in the list. It also doesn't hurt that she has 4 Grammys, 6 AMA awards, 5 CMT awards, 3 Teen Choice awards, 6 CMA awards, plus numerous others (oh yeah, she earned $18 million in 2009 - that doesn't hurt either).
