This is probably a good move for the Sox because it seems this season is quickly getting our of their reach. With the Yankees and Rays both playing great baseball, planning for next season might not be a terrible idea.

Kevin Youkilis Out For the Season
If there was a World Series for just the disabled list, you'd be quite dumb to bet against the Red Sox. Yooooooooooooooooouk will join the walking wounded after being ruled out for the rest of the season today to under go surgery on his right thumb. He will join Pedroia, Mike Cameron, and Jason Varitek on the DL, but unfortunately just missed spending time with Beckett, Martinez, Buchholz and Ellsbury. Mike Lowell will pick up some time on 1B, also having Martinez play there and Kevin Cash behind the plate.

This is probably a good move for the Sox because it seems this season is quickly getting our of their reach. With the Yankees and Rays both playing great baseball, planning for next season might not be a terrible idea.

Coghlan Heads to DL After Celebration Injury
Chris Coghlan joins Kendry Morales in the "I'm a dumbass" category by heading to the disabled list after tearing his meniscus while attempting to pie a teammate. Sunday night teammate Wes Helms had a walk off hit and Coghlan attempted to pie his face. Apparently he forgot about the pieces of grass in the infield and fucked his knee up.

This is the second time this season a player has been seriously injured in a celebration after Kendry Morales broke his leg jumping on home plate after hitting a walk off grand slam (fuck you Kendry I had you on my fantasy team).
Teams need to get rid of the dumbass pie in the face celebration anyway, it's old news. Take notes from the Braves who provided one of the best celebrations after Nate McLouth hit a walk off HR against the Phillies. Check out the video here
