Yes We McCann

The National League finally won the All-Star game for the first time since 1996 thanks in large part to Brian McCann. He ripped a 3 RBI bases clearing double to right in the 7th inning off of White Sox pitcher Matt Thornton. Thornton relieved Yankees pitcher Phil Hughes after he gave up 2 one-out singles. I am a die-hard Red Sox fan (along with Blog Dylan) and it pains me to see the American League lose but at least it was a Yankees player that crapped the bed.

The rest of the game was pretty boring, much like the World Cup final, as the score was 1-0 most of the game. Cano hit a sac fly in the 5th inning off of Dodgers pitcher Hong-Chih Kuo to put the AL up 1-0. The pitchers from both squads were dominant (except for Phil Hughes and Matt Thornton, you bastards). The NL win means they will have home-field advantage in the World Series.

Matt Capps was credited with the win, Phil Hughes the loss and Jonathan Broxton the save.
